Advantage Engineering Technologies, PLLC was founded in 2003 by Richard A. Valentine, P.E., to give mechanical and plumbing contractors an engineering resource that works the way a shop works: from the model, to the spool sheet, to the BOM for ordering material, with nothing lost in between. More than two decades later, that is still the whole business.
AET produces fabrication-level BIM models, MEP coordination drawings, piping spool drawings, purchasing bills of material, and HVAC controls and commissioning engineering. The work is built in Revit, CADmep, and Navisworks, checked against the project specification rather than the fabrication catalog defaults, and delivered in the formats a shop and a field crew actually build from.
Engineering services — sequences of operation, commissioning plans, controls submittal review, load calculations, equipment selection, and hydronic system review — are performed in-house. Most deliverables support procurement and coordination and do not require a seal. Where a project requires a stamped or sealed document, AET provides it under its Professional Engineer licensure in New York, New Jersey, and Maine.
Every project has one point of contact: the engineer doing the work. Nothing is routed offshore, and nothing is handed off to someone who has not seen the model. Deliverable formats are governed by written standard operating procedures, so the second job looks like the first and a contractor’s shop does not have to relearn AET’s drawings on every project.
